Gwen Ifill to Give Undergrad Commencement Speech

College to hold 66th commencement ceremonies May 17

Utica, NY (03/25/2015) - Award-winning journalist, best-selling author, and television news anchor Gwen Ifill will give the keynote address at Utica College's undergraduate commencement ceremony.

Moderator and managing editor of “Washington Week” and co-anchor of “The PBS NewsHour with Glen Ifill and Judy Woodruff,” Ifill has covered seven presidential campaigns, moderated vice presidential debates and was named one of Ebony Magazine’s “150 Most Influential African Americans.”

A graduate of Simmons College, Boston, Ifill interned at the Boston Herald-American and later worked for the Baltimore Evening Son, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and NBC News. She published her first book, "The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama," in 2009.

Utica College will hold its 66th undergraduate commencement ceremonies May 17 at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
