University Scholarships are awarded to full-time freshmen upon admission to Utica University on the basis of academic achievement. 

Eligibility

Awards are made on the basis of academic and personal achievements. (Special restrictions apply to dependent scholarships. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Services.)

University scholarships include:

Utica University President's Scholarship
These awards are based on the highest academic achievement and community service. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Thomas J. Cahill, Jr. Presidential Scholarship
This scholarship is funded through the generosity of Thomas J. Cahill, Jr. '49. To qualify, a student must maintain a 3.0 average and demonstrate financial need.

Founder's Scholarship
These awards are based on high academic achievement and an ability to contribute to the Utica University community. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Utica University Achievement Awards
These awards are based on personal and academic achievement and ability to contribute to the University community. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Leadership Scholarship
These awards are based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership within the school and community. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Affordability Grant
These awards are based on academic success and commitment to succeed. This grant is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Transfer Achievement Awards
These awards are for transfer students who have completed, and will transfer, a minimum of 30 hours of university work. To be eligible for this award, transfer students must maintain full-time status. In addition, students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Transfer Leadership Awards
These awards are for transfer students who have completed, and will transfer, a minimum of 30 hours of university work. The award is contingent upon you maintaining a full-time status.

Associates Achievement Awards
These awards are for transfer students based on obtaining a 2 year degree prior to attending at Utica University. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Honors Award
Honors Program Scholarship is awarded to students based on highest academic achievement. To remain in the program and to keep the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA for the duration of the Honors Program.

Phi Theta Kappa Award
These awards are based on induction into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  To remain in the program and to keep the scholarship, the student must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and full time status.

Utica Grant
These awards are granted to students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable. Students must make and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Resident Hall Grant
These awards are granted to students who demonstrate financial need and will be residing in a resident hall on campus.  To remain eligible for the grant, a student must maintain residence.

My Turn Scholarship
The My Turn Scholarship shall be awarded to full-time students who are the parents of alumni of Utica University or of current Utica University students. This scholarship has the value of one-half tuition. Application forms are available through the Center for Student Success.

Senior Citizens Award
Senior citizens who are alumni, former Foundation Board members, former trustees, and retired employees may take courses for credit and free of charge. Other senior citizens within the community may take up to two courses per semester for credit for one-third tuition, or they may audit the course for free. Special consideration based upon need may be made by the president of the University. Senior citizens are defined as individuals age 65 and older.

Mary S. Kramer '88 Senior Citizens Enrichment Program
Through the generosity of Mary S. Kramer '88, a Senior Citizens Enrichment Program Fund has been established​ for eligible senior citizens to take University classes at no cost to them. To be eligible an individual must be age 65 or older and a non-matriculated student. Qualified individuals may enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses, including online courses. Enrollment in classes are limited to 6 credit hours or less per semester and are not at capacity. The University does have the discretion to allow enrollment into classes that are at capacity. Interested individuals should contact the Office of the Registrar for further information or to enroll.
