Orbinati to discuss adapting to needs of veterans

Utica, NY (11/01/2010) - Albert Orbinati, director of Graduate Online and Non-traditional Programs and veterans coordinator of Utica College, will conclude the Adapting Curriculum for Student Success (ACCS) Conversations on Tuesday (Nov. 9) in the Sherwood Boehlert Conference Center.The lecture “Creating a Veteran-Friendly Campus Community” will focus on the military veterans enrolled at Utica College. The conversation will include suggestions to improve campus community’s knowledge of veterans, a list of the services available for veterans and other ideas for making the veteran’s experience positive.
The conversation begins at 3 p.m. and is free and open to the campus community and the public.
The ACSS Conversations at UC provide an opportunity for faculty and other interested colleagues to share their experiences in teaching, advising, and working with students with disabilities. The presentations showcase innovative teaching practices, documented successes, and information on current issues that enable faculty and staff to improve the quality of higher education for students with disabilities.
