UC Professor to Deliver Keynote Address


Cyber Expert Randall Nichols to Address Engineers Awards Banquet

UC Cyber security expert to speak to engineering group

Utica, NY (02/25/2008) - One of Utica College’s foremost experts on cyber security will be the keynote speaker at the 58th Annual Mohawk Valley Engineers Executive Council Awards banquet Thursday (Feb. 28). Professor Randall Nichols’ presentation, CyberWar: The Next Attack on America, examines the state of the country’s many and varied critical infrastructure challenges. Nichols will detail the strengths, weaknesses and future direction of cyber security in America, delving into how vulnerable some of America’s most basic electronic infrastructure has become and discussing ways to improve it. 

Nichols is director of UC’s computer forensics programs and is a nationally renowned expert in the area of cyber defense. In addition to the keynote address, there will be static displays and informational booths set up by local educational institutions, the economic development community and technical associations in the area.
