Utica, NY (02/26/2014) - Utica College’s Department of Performing and Fine Arts will present its spring play, “Cinderella Waltz,” created by Don Nigro and presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Inc., from Thursday, March 6 to Sunday, March 9.

“Cinderella Waltz,” directed by Marijean Levering, associate professor of theatre, is a comedic spin-off of the classic fairytale created by the Grimm Brothers. Although most of the iconic characters have a role in the play, most are unrecognizable due to their unusual behavior. Rosey Snow, her two stepsisters, stepmother, lecherous father, not-so-charming Prince, her unhelpful fairy godmother and other characters, are played by 16 student and community cast members.

Playing the role of Rosey Snow will be Rose Zaloom and Sara George, who will each perform on two of the four nights.

Currently, Utica College is one of two schools in the entire country, and the only theatre program on the East Coast to perform “Cinderella Waltz.”

Tickets are $4, general admission, and can be purchased at the door. Show times are 8 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

For more information about this performance, or other performances at UC, contact Dan Hapanowicz at dmhapano@utica.edu or (315) 792-3057.
