Utica, NY (11/18/2009) - At the holidays, many people start thinking about how they can give back. As the season rapidly approaches, a group of Utica College students in the occupational therapy program are on a mission to help some less fortunate citizens of Brazil.
In collaboration with SUNYIT’s medical mission to Brazil, the students of the UC occupational therapy program are collecting shoes for children and adults in Brazil. They are seeking donations of slightly worn children shoes and adult flip flops and sandals. These shoes will benefit many in Brazil who cannot afford such items. The students’ goal is to collect 500 pairs of shoes.

Donated shoes can be placed in boxes located outside the occupational therapy office on the second floor of White Hall or outside student activities in the Strebel Student Center until Dec. 1.

Please contact Jessica Hanmer at Jhanmer21@utica.edu with any questions.
