Pathfinder Village
Description
Pathfinder Village is a residential facility for developmental disabilities for youth-adults in Edmenston, N.Y. For 30+ years, the unique organization has responded to changing regulatory policies, research best practices in creating a viable dynamic community.
Action
The CEO requested the Leadership Institute to conduct an internal assessment of the stakeholders' perceptions of the Village. The Leadership team proposed an adaption of the Behavior Conditioning Model Research to guide the study.
The Institute team refined the Behavior Conditioning Model to Pilot the inquiry process and create questions sensitive and meaningful to parent/guardians, residents, staff, and service leaders. The yearlong process initiated in May 2011, provided the ability of four faculty and four graduate students to meet with 128 members of the Village Community.
