Office of Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research at Utica College is responsible for providing administrators, faculty, and staff with requested planning information.  Typical planning information includes historical and current demographic information about UC, comparisons to peer institutions, and summaries of qualitative and quantitative feedback gathered from faculty, staff, students, and alumni.  This data is used for program planning and review, departmental and college-wide accreditations, and department specific projects and goals.  The IR office also coordinates required college reporting to the federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the New York State Education Department (NYSED), and also provides data to various prospective student college guides.

The associate vice president currently serves as the chair of the Registration Operations Committee, co-chair of the College’s Compliance Committee,  and serves on the Middle States Self-Study Executive Committee.  The office regularly works cooperatively with a wide range of other college offices such as the Registrar, Admissions, Student Financial Services, Graduate Studies, and Online and Extended Studies to ensure accurate data.

Current Projects:

  • Noel Levitz Student Satisfaction Inventory.  In the Fall of 2018, the IR office will be conducting Noel Levtiz surveys for all student populations.  Results can be found on the Student Surveys tab.
  • Retention and Completion Task Force.  The office is providing detailed information on retention and completion by cohort for the Task Force.  Data is being provided for both on-campus and online programs.
