OFF CAMPUS DATABASE ACCESS

Troubleshooting Information

Library databases and full text resources require Utica College user authentication. If you have tried logging in at the off campus authentication page, consider these possible causes/solutions.

In order of likelihood:

1. You may have incorrectly entered your username/password. Try again or go to www.password.utica.edu. Note that passwords must be regularly updated.

2. Authentication may not recognize you as authorized. Only students CURRENTLY registered for a Utica College course or formal continuation are authorized. Having a UC username/password is not in itself sufficient.

IMPORTANT: Students who have finished all coursework but continue with projects, theses, or capstones are not eligible for database access unless enrolled as a student in 997/998. To clarify your current status contact the Registrar directly.

3. If you are able to login to other restricted resources but not the one you want from the library, please call the UC Library InfoDesk (315-792-3044) or email: refere@utica.edu. AsUs24/7 chat service may be able to help with the general status of a resource.

4. If you are currently registered but can't access resources, there may be issues with your network access, your ISP (Internet Service Provider), or other technical issues. For advice, call the UC HelpDesk (315-792-3115), email: helpdesk@utica.edu

5. In unusual circumstances, you may be currently registered or have special guest credentials but the UC internal identity system has not caught up with you. For assistance, call the IT HelpDesk (315-792-3115), email: helpdesk@utica.edu
.
