Welcome Back!
Dear Colleagues and Students,
Welcome back to campus! I hope you enjoyed a restful and relaxing winter break.
Our campus was a beautiful winter scene during much of that time. I want to thank our facilities and grounds team for keeping the walkways and thoroughfares safe through the many bouts of harsh weather we’ve had thus far (and thank them in advance for what’s yet to come this winter).
There is a lot to look forward to this semester, from activities, celebrations, and special programming to campus improvements, such as the long-anticipated opening of our new state-of-the-art Cyber Range. We will complete and introduce a new strategic plan for 2026-2030. We will celebrate the affinity that alumni and others hold for this University as part of what I hope is another ground-breaking Give Day. And I particularly hope everyone will find time to participate in our programming around Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Each semester also brings new opportunities to celebrate the remarkable work taking place at this University – in the classroom, in the community, on the athletic fields, and on the national stage. This spring will be no exception, with student/faculty presentations at multiple regional and national conferences, our always amazing Student Research Day, news of impressive first positions and grad school admissions for our seniors, our student-athletes competing for individual and team championships, and so much more.
As we approach our eightieth year as an institution, we will be called upon this semester to begin planning for the path ahead, working together to build a vision of where Utica University will be when it celebrates its centennial, not so many years from now. I look forward to our conversations over the coming months as we seek to tell our story in bold and exciting new ways, highlighting the remarkable achievements of the many community members who make Utica such a special place.
This spring, as I begin my tenure as president, I’m both honored and excited to lead this institution forward in partnership with a faculty and staff that is as dedicated as they are talented. I am excited about the opportunities and possibilities that lay ahead, and I hope you are as well.
I wish you all a terrific spring semester, and I very much look forward to connecting with you in the coming days.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Nesbitt
President
