If you’re looking to get started in nursing or healthcare, Utica University at Florida nursing and health sciences programs are designed for you. Earn your bachelor’s in nursing on an extended part-time track that fits your busy schedule with our Flex-Track BSN or leverage your previous college experience and earn your degree in just 16 months through the Accelerated Nursing (ABSN) program. With a rigorous learning model that blends online courses and face-to-face onsite labs, live simulations onsite, and clinical rotations within a 50-mile range of campus, the hybrid nursing program is the perfect option for those who hold an associate degree but not a bachelor’s degree.
Students entering this pathway must have a two-year degree and all non-nursing courses completed prior to entry. We offer 100% online Prerequisite Priority (PREP) program for students who need to fulfill prerequisite coursework for the Nursing programs. Learn more about our PREP Program.
The FLEX-Track Nursing program allows you to earn a B.S. in Nursing part-time, helping you develop the skills you need to provide quality care for your patients and achieve success in this highly rewarding profession.
The Flex-Track curriculum builds logically and effectively on completed online coursework, hands-on learning, and real-world clinical practice over 8 semesters.
- Online nursing coursework occurs through an interactive e-Learning platform.
- Clinical skills and nursing simulation labs provide hands-on practice in a controlled environment.
- Clinical rotations at local hospitals within 60 miles of campus provide diverse patient care experiences in advanced medical settings.

If you remain on-track, the Flex-Track BSN can be completed in 2 years. Upon completion, you’ll be prepared to take the NCLEX-RN and join the nursing workforce.

The Utica University CCNE-accredited, Accelerated Nursing BSN program leverages your previous college experience, so you can earn a B.S. in Nursing in as few as 16 months.
While accelerated nursing school is no easy feat, you can expect to graduate from our college prepared to take the NCLEX-RN and join the nursing workforce.
The Utica ABSN curriculum follows a logical, effective sequence of online coursework, hands-on learning, and real-world clinical practice over 4 semesters. The full-time program comprises 62 credit hours—including 225 hours of labs and 588 hours of clinical rotations, which begin during the first semester.
- Online coursework teaches important nursing theory concepts such as cultural diversity, nursing informatics, and evidence-based practice.
- Skills and nursing simulation labs provide hands-on learning with faculty in a controlled, risk-free environment.
- Clinical rotations provide diverse patient care experiences in specialty areas such as adult health, obstetrics, mental health, and community nursing.

The Direct Entry MSN (DEMSN) is an innovative advanced degree option for students who already have a non-nursing bachelor's degree and are looking to become a nurse. This program prepares you to be licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse and gets you ready to choose a path to a second specialty master's degree or advanced certificate.
You’ll be challenged in ways you probably never knew, but in less than 2 years you'll be rewarded in ways you couldn't have imagined.
When you complete the degree program, you’ll be able to:
- Integrate the arts and sciences with nursing science to inform clinical judgment and personal and professional development in advanced generalist nursing practice.
- Facilitate safe, evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate person-centered patient care to achieve quality health outcomes with diverse patients, situations, settings, and communities.
- Engage in intra and interprofessional collaboration, critical reflection, and innovation to promote lifelong learning, promote continual improvement, and inform policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current information and health care technologies and their application to advanced generalist practice.
The Direct-Entry Master of Science in Nursing program has a strong focus on leadership, global health, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with multiple opportunities throughout the program to build awareness and leadership skills.
With a total of 80 credits for the program, students will be enrolled full-time with 15-17 credits per semester and complete 225 lab hours and 800 clinical hours in acute and community care.

The hybrid Health Sciences program at Utica University provides foundational learning for students who desire to enter any of a number of different health and health-related professions. Offered through a combination of both on-ground and online classes, this program is a strong undergraduate prelude to graduate study in physical and occupational therapy.
Taught by an accomplished faculty, the major in Health Sciences offers a solid grounding for professional accomplishment and more specialized study, following a highly interdisciplinary approach to human health that encompasses everything from anatomy to anthropology to statistics and more.
The practical nature of the hybrid Health Sciences program, the experiential learning opportunities, the approachable and caring professors, and the excellent support staff, combined with health science courses, help you succeed in making a career in the health sciences your own—from health administration, exercise physiology, and athletic training to occupational therapy, physical therapy, and other fields.
