PioTalk: Personal Impacts of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine

The DEI Collaborative, with support from the Office of International Education and Utica University faculty members, are inviting the campus community to a PioTalk discussion on Friday, March 4 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Wilcox Center exploring the current situation involving Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
We recognize that we have many students, faculty, and staff of Slavic heritage, many of whom have friends and family still living in the region, who are going through deeply emotional and fearful times as the situation continues to evolve. We also recognize our role in the greater Utica community, which has a large population of those of Slavic heritage and is a hub for refugee resettlement.
This PioTalk will be a space for education, decompression, and reflection, where the community is invited to come together to voice their concerns and lean on one another for support. Staff from the Counseling Center will be available.
Associate Professor of History Dr. Clemmie Harris will open the discussion followed by words from Vasyl Yurkuts, a current Utica University exchange student from Ukraine.
The floor will then be open for group discussion.
This event will also be available via Zoom.
