Utica College Attendance to Now Include All Books, Course Materials
Those days of waiting for hours in line at the college bookstore, hoping the books weren’t too expensive, are over.
Utica College will now include the cost of all textbooks within the overall cost of attendance, said Jeffery Gates, senior vice president for student life and enrollment management.
In addition to saving students and families approximately 30 percent on the cost of books, students will have all the materials they need bundled and ready to go at the start of the semester, Gates said.
Incoming first-year students will also receive a brand new IPad, Gates said, which will be theirs to keep upon their graduation from UC.
“We want to ensure that students are ready to succeed from day one,” Gates said, “so we’re doing everything we can to make that happen.”
The book bundle, Gates said, makes preparing for the fall semester simpler and actually saves the students money. Students’ books will be ordered automatically when students register for classes, he said.
