Matthew Marmet, M.B.A., Ph.D., was born and raised in the Mohawk Valley. In addition to his position as Director of M.B.A. Programs at Utica, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Management.
Marmet’s work experience includes time spent in Human Resources functions, such as organization and management development, training, and employee onboarding.
In addition to being an avid outdoorsman, he is a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and spends most of his summers on two wheels. He is happily married to his wife, Shawna, and they have two Bichon Frises named Leon and Louie.
Honors and Distinctions
Richard G. Fenner, Ph.D., M.B.A., has been a Utica faculty member since 1989 and is currently Dean of the School of Business and Justice Studies at Utica. In addition, he also serves as the director of Utica’s Mohawk Valley Center for Economic Education.
Fenner’s research interests include the areas of education finance, pedagogy, creating teaching materials, and teaching economics. His most recent work includes a study for the U.S. Department of Education on the impact of state aid on local school districts. He also co-authored a book titled, “Teaching Financial Crises,” and developed curriculum for Aplia.

Our online M.B.A. degree accepts applications from first-time freshmen, as well as students with some college credit. To apply for the M.B.A. degree online from Utica University, you’ll need the following:
Transfer credit is awarded for courses taken at a regionally accredited college that are equivalent to those taught at Utica University and for which you received a grade of “B” or better. Note that we require official transcripts from all colleges you’ve attended, as well as a transcript showing degree awarded.
Shortly after you receive your letter of admission, you will receive an evaluation of your transfer credits from the Registrar’s Office. If you want to review possible credit eligibility ahead of time, use TES® (Transfer Evaluation System).
If English is not your first language, submit your test scores from either the TOEFL or IELTS.
Utica requires a TOEFL score of 550 written, 213 computer-based, or 79 internet-based. Utica requires a IELTS score of 6.0.
