Parent and Family Guide to Orientation

Utica College provides an orientation program for parents and families. We understand that parents and families also experience a transition when a student goes to college, and we're here to help. What is parent and family orientation?
Parent orientation is a chance for parents and families to learn more about Utica College, our faculty, staff, and resources. It's also a chance to ask questions and meet other parents. At orientation you will:


    Meet with representatives from your student's academic program



    Learn about services available to students and families



    Gain a unique perspective on how to support your student


Here is an outline of your day:

8:00 - 2:00 : Move- In

  • Move Students into their residence hall rooms

10:00 - 2:00 pm Orientation Check- In & Resource Fair

  • Check in for Orientation
  • Meet with Offices from across campus for information about campus services

*Lunch is available from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm*

2:00 -  5:00 pm : Convocation & Academic Sessions

  • Join Us to celebrate the academic opening of the College and the beginning of Orientation

  • Meet with professors from your academic area

6:00 pm : Parent and Family Dinner

  • Meet more faculty, staff, and other parents and family members!
