Description:
Discover a gentle, mindful, learning approach to movement that can transform the way you feel in your body and go through your daily life. Join Dr. Staffan Elgelid of Nazareth University for an engaging introduction to the Feldenkrais Method—a somatic education practice of learning that blends elements of movement, awareness, and neuroscience to improve flexibility, posture, and overall well-being based on principles of learning.
During this session, Dr. Elgelid will explain the foundations of the Feldenkrais Method, including how small, intentional movements can retrain the brain and body to move more efficiently and with less pain or strain, and let the participants look at how their own habits limits their daily lives. Participants will gain insight into how this approach differs from traditional yoga and exercise practices, making it accessible to individuals of all ages and physical abilities.
The presentation will include short, guided Feldenkrais sessions, offering attendees the opportunity to experience this gentle yet powerful method firsthand. Come ready to slow down, tune in, and explore new possibilities for ease and comfort in your everyday movement.
*Attendees are welcome to bring a yoga mat or towel; limited mats to borrow will be available.
