Smart Classroom - Nesbitt Business Class

Utica College has been named third in “The 20 Best New York Online MBA Degree Programs” by MBA Central, based on programs’ overall affordability, support services and quality of classes.

Utica College has also placed first in “Most Affordable Online MBA Programs (2019-2020),” as recently ranked by BSchools, an independent organization offering detailed program guides, school and professor profiles and FAQs for those seeking higher education. These resources highlight the admissions requirements, concentrations, instructional format and unique characteristics of online MBA programs.

Utica College’s MBA program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Offering both blended and online-only classes, Utica College is an affordable MBA option. UC’s blended MBA provides students with in-person, online, or a combination of the two modalities. The program provides an opportunity for those who desire the flexibility of an online program, but also desire the face-to-face benefits offered with traditional programs. Classes are available in a synchronous format, with all the qualities of a live classroom, with additional options to view them asynchronously as needed. Everything, from coursework to grades, is the same regardless of which learning format a student chooses.

UC’s online MBA requires 30 credits to graduate. Students focus 15 credits on core course work in classes. Twelve credits go toward courses in a student’s specialization in Finance/Accounting, Insurance and Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Cyber Policy, Data Analytics, Entrepreneurship, or Health Care Management. The remaining three credits complete the final capstone.

"The Utica College MBA program was built around the idea that today's working professional needs education options beyond the classic classroom or online learning models,” said MBA program director Stephanie Nesbitt. “Our approach to graduate business education mirrors the way business is conducted in today's world. Technology allows us to create dynamic learning communities in virtual space where our students interact with faculty and fellow students much as they would in a classroom on campus. In our experience we have discovered most distance learners desire the flexibility of online education, but do not want to give up the interactive and collaborative nature of great educational experiences."

Nesbitt, who holds an MBA and JD, is associate dean of business and economics.

The college enrolls nearly 1,500 graduate students in 20 graduate programs.
