WPNR-FM Sets New Mark With Record Game Broadcasts
WPNR-FM staff members called a record 140 games over the Empire 8 Digital Conference Network with the help of Utica University’s Sports Information and Athletics departments.
Training helps create more inclusive College community

Keeping on its mission of fostering an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion, Utica College has once again partnered with the operating system Everfi, A pioneer in the Community Engagement industry, to deliver training to faculty and staff around the topics of diversity and inclusion. The course is designed to provide baseline knowledge of key terms and concepts to all community members around these topics.
“This annual training is now being deployed to all faculty and staff in support of Utica College's Strategic Plan 2020-2025,” explained President Laura Casamento. “It specifically speaks to the second strategic goal around building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive climate by having 100 percent participation in training.”
Utica College students are taking a student version of this training annually.
“Here, we believe in the importance of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all of our employees and other communities,” said Dr. Anthony M. Baird Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Student Transitions/ Chief Diversity Officer. “These trainings, in addition to being highly interactive and engaging, are based in research around the best practices for creating an inclusive community.”
The training, which takes roughly 45-60 minutes to complete, was released the first week of December to faculty and staff, who were given until the end of the month to complete virtually.
