  3. Rick Short Headlines Latest F. Eugene Romano Executive Lecture Series At Utica University
Rick Short '88

The F. Eugene Romano Executive lecture series is presented by the Business and Economics Department of Utica University in cooperation with the Office of Advancement. It gives students the opportunity to engage with community leaders in those fields and learn from their experiences in the industry.

Utica University alumnus Richard “Rick” Short ’88 will be the latest speaker to deliver a talk as a part of the F. Eugene Romano Executive Lecture Series at Utica University. The presentation will be delivered at the Robert Brvenik Center for Business Education at the Clark City Center on Thursday, October 13 at 7 p.m.

Short currently serves as the Corporate Associate Vice President at Indium Corporation, and has been with the company for 38 years. During his time with the company, he has seen it grow from just a single location in Utica, to a global enterprise with 16 locations across the US, UK, Singapore, China, South Korea, Germany, India, and Malaysia.

In his current role, Short ensures the global programs and initiatives align with the corporate brand and culture as well as the philosophy of The Indium Way®. He is also in charge of overseeing community engagement as well as image and reputation management.

Short is a very active member of the community. He provides mentorship to high school and college students through the Utica University Young Scholars Program, serves and supports students and faculty at the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES P-TECH program, and is a board member, mentor, and volunteer at The Midtown Utica Community Center. He is a social activist who dedicates his resources to support and promote education, engagement, and networking to improve the lives of those who reside in the Mohawk Valley.

In his free time he enjoys photography, songwriting and recording, refurbishing antiques, and is a proud vintage truck and classic car owner.

The F. Eugene Romano Executive lecture series is presented by the Business and Economics Department of Utica University in cooperation with the Office of Advancement. It gives students the opportunity to engage with community leaders in those fields and learn from their experiences in the industry.
