A Rohingya refugee naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 2025, Nurhaliza Syukur ’26 was born and raised in Malaysia, coming to the United States in 2019 with aspirations of a career in medicine.
Kristin’s Fund Sponsors ‘A Call To Men’ Football Camp
Free Event to take place at Utica University
Kristin’s Fund once again teams up with A Call to Men and Utica University football to host a free two-day football camp for young men in the CNY area June 27 and 28 at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
More than 200 CNY athletes are expected to attend the camp and they will work on character development, respectful manhood education, prevention strategies for abusive relationships and sexual assult, in addition to football drills. Utica University’s head football coach Blaise Faggiano and his staff will run the football part of the camp. There will be many guest coaches and speakers including Minnesota Vikings Tight End Coach Brian Angelichio, Syracuse Football Legend / NFL Quarterback / Author Don McPherson, and more.
Kristin’s Fund was created after the tragic death of Kristin Palumbo-Longo, who was the victim of domestic violence in September 2009. The mission is to stop domestic violence by funding educational initiatives.
