Young Scholars to Host Domestic Violence Event

Donations to Benefit YWCA

Young Scholarships Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP) of Utica College is hosting a purple ribbon campaign event for the YWCA in support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 24 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and will be held at Utica College in the Ellen Knower Clarke Lounge inside Strebel Student Center. Dianna Stancato, YWCA Mohawk Valley CEO, will give a brief presentation followed by a personal story from domestic violence survivor, Teresa Staring. There will be a reception to follow with light refreshments served. The event is free and open to everyone.

Young Scholars Liberty Partnerships Program (YSLPP) is a collaborative project between Utica College and the Utica City School District designed to motivate diverse and talented students to stay in school, earn a New York State Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, and pursue post-secondary education.
