DEI Book Club Meeting

Join the DEI Book Club! This book club is open to Utica University students and members of the greater Utica community. It allows participants to explore new identities, perspectives, and life experiences in a relaxed and fun way. The group meets two times a semester to discuss select chapters from the books we're reading. But don't worry! You can join the conversation even if you haven't read the work or aren't caught up!
The Fall 2023 books are all about love by bell hooks and Diversity, Inc,: The Fight for Racial Equality in the Workplace by Pamela Newkirk.
- "All About Love offers radical new ways to think about love by showing its interconnectedness in our private and public lives. In eleven concise chapters, hooks explains how our everyday notions of what it means to give and receive love often fail us, and how these ideals are established in early childhood." | Learn more.
- "One of Time Magazine's Must-Read Books of 2019: An award-winning journalist shows how workplace diversity initiatives have turned into a profoundly misguided industry—and have done little to bring equality to America's major industries and institutions." | Learn more.
Participants can join us in person on campus or online.
