Talk on Civil Rights Act

In Honor of 50th Anniversary of Milestone Legislation

Utica, NY (05/01/2014) - On Tuesday, May 6, the Utica College Center for Historical Research and Department of History present “Milestone of Freedom: The Civil Rights Act Fifty Years Later” as told by Dr. Christopher Hill, resident fellow at the Alexander Hamilton Institute.

President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law in 1964. Hill will describe the social significance of that law and what progress the United States has made in civil rights since that law was put in place.

The lecture will take place at 6 p.m. in Macfarlane Auditorium, DePerno Hall on the Utica College campus. It is free and open to the public.
