UC to Host Talk on Women's Suffrage

Author to Discuss Women Who Opposed Voting Rights for Women

Utica, NY (03/25/2014) - In honor of Women’s History Month, Utica College’s History Department and Center for Historical Research will host the talk “No Votes for Women: The New York State Anti-Suffrage Movement” on Thursday, March 27.

The talk will be presented by Susan Goodier, Ph.D., of SUNY Institute of Technology. It is based on Goodier’s book of the same title, which explores the complicated history of the suffrage movement in New York by delving into the stories of women who opposed the expansion of voting rights to women.

The event is free and open to the public. It will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. in Utica College’s Macfarlane Auditorium in DePerno Hall.
