Utica, NY (11/03/2008) - Utica College will host an open house on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. to showcase its impressive lineup of majors, minors, programs, co-curricular activities, organizations, transfer options and the many other opportunities that are offered at the college.

Festivities will be held on campus for prospective freshmen and transfer students, family members and their guests. The day will feature a continental breakfast, tours, discussions and various activities to help familiarize attendees with UC’s campus environment. In the afternoon, the open house will cap off with the Pioneer football team taking on the Norwich University Cadets at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.

Utica College, long known for its outstanding faculty and personal attention to students, has recently expanded its offerings to include undergraduate degrees in construction management, risk management and insurance, gerontology, geoscience and biochemistry.

Interested students and guests are asked to come to Strebel Student Center for registration and breakfast at 8:30 a.m., followed by opening remarks at 9 a.m. At 9:30, a discussion titled “Become an Active Learner at Utica College” will show attendees how to get involved in their college learning experiences, and to make the most of the options on campus. This will be followed by a tour of campus, including visits to the new state-of-the-art Romano Hall, which is home to UC’s renowned health studies programs, and a tour of the nearly completed building which will house UC’s internationally recognized economic crime and justice studies programs. At 11:45, the second discussion, “Be an Active Student At Utica College” will highlight clubs, sports and activities available on campus.

All attendees will be given complimentary tickets to the 1:30 p.m. football game at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium to watch the UC Pioneers lock horns on the gridiron with Empire 8 conference rival Norwich University.

This event is free and open to all who would like a closer look at the campus. For more information, contact the office of admissions at 800-782-8884, 315-792-3006 or admissions@utica.edu. To view a list of undergraduate programs of study, visit www.utica.edu/programs.
