CHR Sponsors Talk on Gender, Racial Inequality


McCune Associate Professor of History at SUNY Oswego

Utica, NY (03/10/2015) - On Wednesday, March 11, Utica College’s Center for Historical Research will host Mary McCune, associate professor of history at SUNY Oswego. She will give a talk titled “Intimate Quarters: Gender and the History of Racial Segregation in the North,” in celebration of Women’s History Month.

McCune earned her Ph.D. in history from Ohio State University. She has several publications on understanding the role of women in different cultures. She teaches several courses at SUNY Oswego, including “Women in American History” and “Women and War in the Twentieth Century.”  Her talk at UC will center on gender and racial inequality in our nation’s recent history.

This event is free and open to all students and the public. It will take place in Macfarlane Auditorium located in DePerno Hall at 6:30 p.m. with a reception immediately to follow.
