Lunch Hour Series Presents Pianist, Cellist

World-Renowned Musicians Feature Albanian Music

Utica, NY (02/18/2014) - Utica College’s Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series will present a performance by pianist Ida Tili-Trebicka and cellist Gregory Wood on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The performance will feature music from Albania, including the world premiere of “L’AURA” by Eriona Rushiti and “Love Your Name” by Thomas Simaku.

Tili-Trebicka, assistant professor of music at Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music, has performed throughout the United States, Europe and China as an orchestral soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and collaborative pianist.

In 2006, Tili-Trebicka performed abroad in Florence, Italy at the Galleria Dell’Accademia.  She performs regularly at the Czenovia Counterpoint Concert Series as a part of the Society for New Music events, as well as at the Civic Morning Musical Concert Series.

Wood, instructor of music at Syracuse University’s Setnor School of Music, currently plays with Symphoria, Central New York's professional orchestra. He has performed with the Aspen Festival Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO), including a CSO tour to the Kennedy Center. 

As a member of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra (SSO), Wood has performed at Carnegie Hall on many occasions and is currently a member of the SSO Baroque Ensemble. Recently, he performed with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Syracuse and in New York for an appearance on “Good Morning America.”

The performance will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Concourse, located in the lower level of the Frank E. Gannett Library. It is free and open to the public.
