Lunch Hour Series Kicks Off with Published Poet

Utica, NY (02/12/2014) - The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series at Utica College kicks off the spring semester with poet Yvonne Murphy on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 12:30 p.m. in Macfarlane Auditorium, located in DePerno Hall, on the Utica College campus.Murphy’s first book of poetry, Aviaries, was published in March 2011. She is professor of the arts at SUNY Empire State College in East Syracuse and has a Ph.D. in creative writing and literature.
Murphy has worked as an editor, publications writer, journalist, storyteller, researcher and artist-in-residence in public schools, community organizations, hospitals and museums.
The Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series presents a series of musical and literary programs each semester. All programs are free and open to the public.
Literary programs are made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts.
