Utica, NY (09/29/2010) - On Friday, Oct. 1, between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., the Central New York Watercolor Society’s annual Demo Night will be held next to the Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery in the Library Concourse of Utica College. Eight members of the organization will demonstrate their painting skills in the medium of watercolor. This gala event will afford those in attendance the opportunity to view exceptional artwork and to interact with the artists as they step out of their studios to discuss their approaches to creating art in their chosen medium.

The eight society members who will answer questions and chat with the public as they demonstrate their painting techniques are Laura Neadle, Ceil Pigula, Cookie Falcone, Judith Hand, Drayton Jones, Judy Soprano, Kathy Kernan and Sandra Stockton Rooney. These artists are all eager to share their enthusiasm for watercolor in this informal and inviting setting.

Formed more than 25 years ago, the Central New York Watercolor Society fosters the advancement of the art of watercolor painting and informs and educates the general public through exhibitions, lectures and painting demonstrations. Membership consists of outstanding and talented artists from throughout the United States who have achieved recognition in this field.

Seasonal refreshments will be served and admission is free and open to the public. For more information please visit www.centralnewyorkwatercolorsociety.org and www.utica.edu/gallery
