UCSD Students, Educators to Exhibit in Barrett Art Gallery
14th Annual Exhibit Opens Jan. 24

Utica, NY (01/14/2010) - On Jan. 24, the Edith Langley Barrett Fine Art Gallery at Utica College will open its doors to showcase the art students and educators of the Utica City School District.The 14th annual exhibit – a local favorite - includes original works of art created by students and teachers throughout the Utica School District in grades kindergarten through 12. Artists employ various mediums including photography, oil painting, ceramics, sculpture, watercolor, crayon drawing, finger-painting, collage, pencil drawing and more.
Both educators and students will present their pieces to the public at the opening reception on Sunday, Jan. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be arts and crafts demonstrations, including making cards and hand puppets. In addition, students from Proctor High School will add performing arts to the event with music.
The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. For more information, call (315)792-5289 or visit the college’s website at www.utica.edu/culture.
