UC to Host Memorial Service for Jerry Weiss
Associate Professor Emeritus Taught for 33 Years

Utica, NY (01/22/2009) - The Utica College community invites relatives and friends to celebrate the life of Jerry Weiss, associate professor emeritus of communication arts and dramatics, who passed away December 31. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24 at 3 p.m. in Strebel Auditorium, followed by a reception in the Ellen Knower Clark Lounge, Strebel Student Center. Family members, colleagues, past students and friends will have the opportunity to share their memories of Professor Weiss. The service will be led by Robert Woods, vice president for student affairs and dean of students emeritus at the college.During his 33-year tenure at UC, Weiss taught courses in speech and theatre, as well as directing more than 50 student productions. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution may consider the Jerome Weiss Outstanding Theatre Award at Utica College, given annually to deserving students involved in the theatre arts at UC. Donations can be directed to the college's Office of Institutional Advancement.
