Utica, NY (08/16/2007) - With an array of events from fireworks to sports to hot air balloon rides, there will be something for everyone at Utica College’s annual homecoming weekend.

UC invites all 19,000 alumni, along with current students, families and friends of the college to join in and enjoy the multitude of events taking place both on campus and around the city the weekend of September 28 - 30.

“This weekend has become something alumni, families and friends look forward to each year,” said Mark Kovacs, director of alumni and parent relations. “The turnout grows each year and so do the festivities. With nearly 7,500 alumni in the Mohawk Valley, we hope to, once again, have a great turnout this year.”

Some of the highlights of the homecoming weekend include a casino night, hot air balloon rides, a Saranac outdoor music festival on Varick Street, a carnival, fireworks, the traditional pub night, the dedication and tours of F. Eugene Romano Hall, and, of course, various sporting events.

UC will host its men’s lacrosse alumni game on Friday, the 28, at 7 p.m. On Saturday, UC’s football team will suit up and take the field against Springfield College at 12:30 p.m. The men’s soccer team will take their turn defending their home turf against Elmira College on Saturday at 7 p.m. All sporting events are being held at the Charles A. Gaetano stadium.
