The Mohawk Valley Writing Project

Current Programs

The Sixth Annual Young Writers' Program – July 20-24, 2015

The Young Writers’ Workshop is designed to provide young writers the time and opportunity to develop their love of writing and create their own writing pieces. Students will be divided into groups based upon their age, grades 5-8 and 9-12. Two Mohawk Valley Writing Project Teacher-Consultants, experienced teachers and writers themselves, will work with each group sharing their expertise through direct writing instruction and guided individual and peer-group conferences. The ratio of student writers to teachers will be no more than 12-to-1. Following the end of this workshop, students’ writing will be published in an anthology.

Both levels will meet from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., in the Kelly Room within the Frank E. Gannett Memorial Library. Click here to view the application.
