Greek Councils

Councils serve chapters as governing bodies and may represent a local branch of the national affiliation between groups and umbrella organizations. Councils coordinate events that support the Pillars of Greek Life, stress unity among chapters, and work to promote membership growth. Greek Life does not require chapters who are not affiliated with a national umbrella to join a council. However Utica College Greeks are made up of one council called the Inter Greek Council.

Inter Fraternity Council
The IFC is an umbrella organization that administers and promotes the local men's fraternities on campus, and acts as a liaison between the University and the fraternities. The IFC currently consists of 23 men's fraternities, who each have one voting representative on council. www.nicindy.org

National Pan-Hellenic Council
The National Pan-Hellenic Council's purpose is to promote unity and expose members to the "service for life" philosophy and foster leadership development and scholarship among the divine nine chapters which belong to the NPHC. Furthermore, the National Pan-Hellenic Council provides a forum for participation and interaction among the members of affiliate organizations and the organizations themselves. It provides for a stronger unified voice and a stronger unified body. The NPHC is comprised of all the Divine nine Historically African American Fraternity and sororities. www.nphchq.org

The Panhellenic Association

Panhellenic, through their all-sorority programming efforts promotes superior scholarship, leadership development and dissemination of information important to women in general.
