UC’s Professor Harry F. and Mary Ruth Jackson Lunch Hour Series will mix it up a bit, with an evening reading by novelist Julie Shigekuni, who will read from her most recent novel this evening (March 8) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble in New Hartford. This is free and open to everyone.

The author of four novels including “Unending Nora,” Shigekuni was a finalist for the Barnes & Noble Disocver Great New Writers Award, and the recipient of the PEN Oakland Josephine Miles Award for Excellence in Literature.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from CUNY Hunter College, and her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. She is currently the director of the creative writing program at the University of New Mexico.

Literary programs are made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a State Agency.
