Utica College Campus
UC's newest residence hall
This five-story residence hall provides living space for 113 students in mostly single-occupancy, cluster-style rooms. The design incorporates many student suggestions, including the addition of more glass to allow natural light in.
Bell Hall is located between Tower Hall and the Newman Center, enclosing the residential quad that also includes North, South and Alumni Halls.
Fittingly, the centerpiece for the hall is a 600-pound, century-old antique bronze bell donated to the College by Randy Huta, associate professor emeritus of accounting.
Bell Hall was dedicated in a ceremony on October 14, 2005.
The Tolling Of The Bell
One of Utica College's youngest traditions, the tolling of
the bell atop Bell Hall signals the beginning and end of the academic year. The bell is ceremoniously rung prior to Convocation and Commencement each year.
