Having already established one of the nation’s most well-regarded bachelor’s degree sequences in public relations,the College went on to launch nationally recognized programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology – child life, and economic crime investigation, several of which have been emulated by other institutions.

In 1995, Utica College established itself as a financially and legally independent institution with its own Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees adopted the College’s first 10-year strategic plan in 1999, updated in 2006, laying out six strategic initiatives.

UC has attracted world-class faculty/scholars in criminology, communications, human rights law, and other disciplines, many of whom have earned national and international reputations for their work.

To its growing list of undergraduate offerings, Utica College has added 15 graduate programs, including master’s programs in education, economic crime, professional accountancy, occupational therapy, and liberal studies, as well as two doctoral sequences in physical therapy. Several of these programs are offered either substantially or entirely via online study.

The College has established several highly respected centers of applied research, including the Economic Crime Institute (ECI), the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection (CIMIP), and the Computer Forensics Research and Development Center.
