Student Employment

At Utica College, we recognize that in addition to academic success, our students should be encouraged to pursue work experience related to their field of study. Having good work habits and basic job skills will help them to succeed in today's work force. We provide many opportunities to develop or reinforce these skills and gain experience through our Student Employment Program.

If you have a federal work study award, please click on the Student Employment Opportunities portal to apply for a job.  The portal will open to students without FWS (applying for a College payroll position) on 8/22 and to international students on 8/29.
You can only apply for one position at a time.

The goals of the Student Employment Program are simple.

  • Give students a source of income

If you are looking for extra spending money while at college, the Student Employment Program may be your best option. Several opportunities exist on campus that could provide you with a convenient job and consistent paychecks.

  • Locate possible career opportunities

While at Utica College, you may identify more than one career choice available to you after graduation. Through the Student Employment Program, you can gain exposure to several jobs. These jobs may help you narrow down your after-college choices.

  • Gain valuable experience

Once you have a chosen career path, you can look for jobs on campus that will give you valuable experience in that field.

  • Learn basic job skills

The skills you learn stay with you for the rest of your career. Our students learn the value of punctuality, communication, confidentiality, and cooperation.

  • Provide the college with a valuable service

Your position on campus helps the college run more efficiently. Many departments on campus rely heavily on student workers. You are a valuable asset to daily operations.
Participation in our Student Employment Program not only assists students financially and professionally, but it can also help students develop a sense of community and belonging. Student jobs are one of the easiest ways to get involved with campus life almost immediately.
