Scholarships Offered by Outside (Non-UC) Organizations

AAUW Scholarship Awards for Women
Amount: $500

AES Engineering Solutions Scholarship
Amount: $500
Eligibility: Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship
Amount: $1,600
Eligibility: Students must be currently attending Utica College undergraduate classes, must have completed at least 30 semester hours which have been graded through the institution, (Do not include accepted transfer credits), and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.2.

American Institute of CPAs
AICPA/Accountemps Student ScholarshipAmount: $2,500 per recipient for one year
Eligibility: Current majors in accounting, finance, or information systems - Graduate or undergraduate students
AICPA/John L. Carey Scholarship
Amount: $5,000 per recipient for one year
Eligibility: Liberal arts degree holders pursuing graduate studies in accounting and the CPA designation

Associated General Contractors of NYS, LLC's Scholarship
Amount: $2,500
Eligibility: Open to New York State residents attending a college or university in or outside New York State, majoring in construction technology or civil engineering and maintaining a 2.5 gpa or better.

First Source Federal Credit Union Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 (Two scholarships for Utica College Students)
Eligibility: If you are planning to attend Utica College full time in the fall and are a member of First Source Federal Credit Union.

Susan M. Henley Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $250
Number of scholarships available: 1 (in 2010)
Eligibility: High school seniors or student currently enrolled in an appropriately accredited college, must enroll or be enrolled in a degree or diploma-granting program in the field of administrative/office technology or business education and the student must have a 3.0 gpa or B average.

Institute of Management Accounts (IMA)
Memorial Education Fund (MEF) ScholarshipAmount: $1000 to $2,500
Eligibility: An IMA student member pursuing study in accounting or finance as an undergraduate or graduate student
Stuart Cameron and Margaret McCleod Memorial (SCMS) Scholarship
Amount: $5,000 plus receive lodging, transportation and registration costs for both the IMA Annual Conference and Exposition and the IMA Student Leadership Conference.
Eligibility: An IMA student member pursuing study in accounting or finance as an undergraduate or graduate student

Violet Morris Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $5,000Eligibility: All full-time undergraduate students who are graduates of local area high schools, who are currently attending a local college. While the important focus is a runner, the intent is to reward the efforts of a person who struggled or struggles against adversity to achieve a goal.

Performing Arts Scholarship Auditions
Amount: $1,000 First Place and $500 Second Place
Eligibility: Resident of Oneida County, ages 14 through 20, demonstrate financial need, audition performance must be dance, vocal, musical theater or acting, completed application prior to audition.

2010 Price Chopper's Golub Foundation
Amount: Up to $2,000
Eligibility: The Junior College Transfer Scholarship is for a graduate or graduating student of a community or junior college, transferring to a four year college or university, as a junior, starting the Fall semester. The Graduate or Professional School scholarship is for a graduating college senior or returning student who is planning on attending graduate school as a fully matriculated, first year graduate student for the Fall semester. Syracuse Builders Exchange (SBE)
Amount and Number of Scholarhips available: Variable -
in 2009 - (3) $1000 scholarships; 2008 - (3) $2000 and (4) $1000 scholarships; 2007 - (3) $2000 and (2) $1000 scholarships were awarded
Eligibility: Students must be an employee of an SBE member firm or dependent of an employee of an SBE member firm. Students need to ask the parent if their employer is a member of the Syracuse Builders Exchange. Must be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university within New York State to be eligible. SBE prefers the applicants' homes be in Onondaga or contiguous county and applicants indicate a willingness to work in the Central New York area upon graduation. Preference will be given to full time students.

Zonta Club of the Oneida Area - Mildred Ridley Scholarship Award
Amount: $600
Number of scholarships available: 1
Eligibility: Candidates must be female students who are going back to school to improve their lives and/or their families. They must be half way through their educational program, have an overall average of C or better, and be residents within the Canastota, Oneida, Stockbridge Valley or Vernon Verona Sherrill school districts.

Zonta Club of Utica Award

Number of scholarships available: 3
Eligibility: Candidates must be female students 25 years of age or older who have had to leave or postpone formal education to deal with adult responsibility, and who can demonstrate significant financial need after all other forms of assistance have been exhausted.

Eligibility: This international scholarship is open to women entering their third or fourth year of study leading to a business-related bachelor's degree. Online students are eligible.
