I have been broadly trained in life span development psychology and through my academic experiences have become a generalist in psychology, as well. My specific interest areas are adolescent and adult development (personality and social development), gender, and multicultural issues in psychology.

Research 

My primary areas of interest are motivation to trust and academic motivation.  Previously I have conducted extensive research on personal relationships. In particular, I have investigated gender differences in romantic relationships and the influence of personality variables and social development on the initiation and maintenance of close friendships in both adulthood and adolescence.
