Jan DeAmicis received his BA from Dartmouth College. After 4 years in the Air Force he attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he earned his MA and Ph.D. (1976). John H. Johnsen received his BA and MA in Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University and his PhD from the University of Buffalo. His early research was in the areas of psychological and cognitive anthropology and urban organization, but after he joined the faculty at Utica College he moved in the direction of an interest in medical anthropology, and the study of Native American history and culture.
