HIS300 / JLM300 - Making Public History
Fall 2006 Projects:
Spring 2006 Projects:
Students taking "Making Public History" in the Spring of 2006 first put their research skills to work digging into Utica's past, focusing on some aspect of Utica's 20th century history involving the famed Hotel Utica. Next they made that research accessible to the public through a variety of media. Research projects were broadcast on public radio, local TV, and on the Web.

"UC gave me the opportunity to develop as a writer, which is one of the most important skills you'll need when pursuing a career in journalism or public relations. Good writers go far. It's that simple. From the training I received in the classroom to the opportunity to work on the Tangerine, there is no question in my mind that UC helped me get where I am today."
