"Chico & Rita" nominated for Best Animated Feature Film

- Utica College’s Cultural Events series kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 29 with Film @ UC’s showing of “Chico & Rita,” nominated for Best Animated Feature Film in 2012.

The 2010 animated film, directed by Fernando Trueba, Javier Mariscal and Tono Errando, follows the love story of a young piano player and a beautiful singer who leave Havana and travel across the world to follow their showbiz dreams and search for a life of fame. The two, united by music and desire, find fame as their relationship’s downfall as they work to overcome heartbreak in this Cuban film set in the '40s.
