Biography
Dr. Jeff Miller specializes in the mass media, visual communication, and semiology. He also teaches public speaking and interpersonal communication, and is director of FILM@UC, the campus film series. He has presented his research at regional, national, and international conferences, and his current work focuses on the history of the Community Action Training Center at Syracuse University from 1964-66. He has been invited to speak on a variety of subjects including the mass media and democratic participation, trends in international news and American foreign policy, and linguistics and political discourse. He was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship in 2007, through which he taught at National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan.
