Critical Care Nursing Experience
In collaboration with nurse educators from Rome Memorial Hospital (RMH), senior nursing students participated in a critical care simulation experience.
The experience involved a simulated rapid response case management (with lap-top), advanced airway management, and cardiopulmonary arrest simulation based on ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) algorithms.
Students commented that they were able to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom setting to complete these clinical scenarios and had the opportunity to perform as a hospital team. Instructors and faculty commented on the strong knowledge base the students demonstrated and their ability to apply it to the clinical simulations.
A special thanks to Sandra Mahoney, R.N.,B.S.N. (Clinical Educator), Melissa Muha, R.N.,B.S.N. (Nurse Clinical Educator RMH ED (Emergency Department) and Shari Bolton, R.N.,B.S.N. (Nurse Manager RMH ED) for their time and providing specialized equipment.
