Studying Mathematics: The UC Advantage
The mathematics program at Utica College focuses on providing students with a strong foundation in quantitative analysis - knowledge that can be applied in a broad variety of fields, including some of the nation's most innovative professions.
- Each year the program fields a team in the Annual Putnam Mathematical Competition sponsored by the Mathematical Association of American (MAA).
- The program also offers opportunities for undergraduates to present research conducted with the faculty at the Seaway Section meetings of the MAA, which are held twice a year.
Curriculum
Mathematics majors can choose either the general concentration or one for prospective mathematics teachers. Major course topics include:
