Biography
An active educator and musician, Colmey holds degrees in music from Berklee College of Music, Five Towns College and University of Washington. In addition to teaching, he has traveled to Africa to study traditional drumming of the Ewe and Dagbomba people of Ghana. Colmey teaches several courses at Utica College including Rock Ensemble, Beginner African Drumming, Intermediate African Drumming, History of Rock, Introduction to Music, History of Hip-Hop and World Music. Colmey also runs a private teaching studio out of Gary's Music in Rome, NY, where students of all ages and levels can come to study drumming in a relaxed atmosphere. When he's not teaching, Corey can be found spending time with his wife, Susan, and their two children, Sam and Molly.
