 An active educator and musician, Colmey holds degrees in music from Berklee College of Music, Five Towns College and University of Washington. In addition to teaching, he has traveled to Africa to study traditional drumming of the Ewe and Dagbomba people of Ghana. Colmey teaches several courses at Utica College including Rock Ensemble, Beginner African Drumming, Intermediate African Drumming, History of Rock, History of Jazz, Introduction to Music, History of Hip-Hop, World Music and Private Drum Instruction. Colmey also runs a private teaching studio out of Gary's Music in Rome, NY, where he gives drum lessons to students of all ages. For more information, please visit his personal website
