Professor Raymond Simon Convergence Media Center
Leading-Edge Learning for PR /Journalism
Named in honor of one of UC's most celebrated faculty members, Professor Emeritus of Public Relations Raymond Simon, this state-of-the-art high-definition broadcast facility provides a hands-on learning environment for the next generation of media professionals.
The Simon Convergence Media Center is comprised of four fully integrated components:
- Lyn Heywood Simon ’56 Broadcast Studio
The centerpiece of the facility, this studio features fully equipped sets for news and interviews, a green screen, and two robotic high definition television cameras.
- Corinne Flo-Grates Control Room
Contains digital switcher, audio console and communication gear to control studio productions and connect the studio with the classroom and edit room.
- Christopher and Virginia Kelly Multimedia Classroom
Electronically linked to the broadcast studio is a cutting-edge multimedia classroom with 15 workstations and several large flat-panel screens for instruction in video, audio, and Web production.
- Leo ’54 and Joan ’54 Brannick Editing Room
A fully appointed digital editing suite for video and audio post production.
Location
The Professor Raymond Simon Convergence Media Center is located in the basement of Faculty Center, in Room FCB03.
