Utica, NY (11/10/2014)
- Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will visit Utica College today, to tour the college’s cybersecurity academic and research facilities.

She also plans to meet with faculty and students to discuss the college’s programs, research and initiatives.

Utica College’s cybersecurity programs carry endorsements from numerous government agencies. UC is designated as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. It is also only the seventh institution of higher learning in the country to earn a National Center for Digital Forensics Academic Excellence from the Defense Cyber Crime Center, and is one of the few institutions to carry both designations.

Utica College is also home to the Northeast Cyber Forensic Center, a fully-functional crime laboratory that provides digital forensic services to law enforcement, public and private entities. It is also home to the Economic Crime and Cybersecurity Institute (ECCI) and the Center for Identity Management and Information Protection (CIMIP).
