ANGEL is a Web-based course management system. You can access the system via any Web-connected computer. No specialized software is needed - just your Web browser. (For recommended additional software, see below.)

Software Recommendations



The software applications needed for eLearning include Java, Flash, Acrobat Reader and Microsoft Office. Certain classes or programs may require specific software or operating systems. Check with your instructor before making any purchases. The four applications needed for all eLearning students are listed below:

Java (Sun Microsystems) – This software is used to run applications and applets that use Java technology in your eLearning course. Free download at http://www.java.com/en/

Adobe Flash Player – This software is used for animation and interactive content. Free download at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/  

Adobe Acrobat Reader – This software is used to open PDF documents that are found in most eLearning courses. Free download at http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Microsoft Office – This software is used to create and open such files as MS Word documents, MS PowerPoint presentations and/or MS Excel spreadsheets. This software is a requirement in eLearning programs and is used in most eLearning courses. You can purchase MS Office Professional at a reduced student rate at www.journeyed.com.

Internet Connection


The recommendation for your internet connection is a DSL connection or higher. It is not recommended that you take eLearning courses using a dial-up connection.
